Your story rings a bell to me 
I joined here in April as soon as I stopped the pill and found out I was pg on Saturday at dpo9. I too did a CI that came up with a faint line, so went and bought a FR test, which came up right away very dark despite being my 5th wee of the day! I also used preseed...Oh, and I'm from Sussex too
