stimming on day 4

my af made a brief appearance last night just a few spots and then disappeared, so i called the clinic this morning and the nurse said its ok just keep my appointment for monday where im having a scan and picking up my meds, its got me a bit worried though if it starts again fully today that will mean im starting my stims on day 4 instead of 3, has anyone else started on day 4 x

Hi, I didn't start stimms until day 4 both times as I have to ring the lister when AF shows so I can have my baseline, that's the same for everyone at the clinic. This time it was shut so it was CD7.

Nothing to worry about as your body has shut down from DR. x

thanks rachelle would that be the same for me though because im on the short protocol so no down reg for me, you have made me feel a little more at ease though, i suppose one day wont make much difference x

she said it will be fine i suppose i just need to trust them, its so hard when its so important though isnt it, i had been relatively chilled about it all up to now lol x

You are doing really well Lottie and you're right, it is hard putting faith & trust in others but I'm sure you'll get there & it'll be awesome! I'm a lot more chilled this time round!x

Hi there raf-wife - just to say that I am on the short protocol as well, as you know, and I was also worried about this depending on when my AF arrived. However, my clinic were totally relaxed about it - I don't think it matters too much in the early stages. I ended up going for my scan on day 3 and they advised me not to start stimming til day 4 to give my endometrium a chance to thin out a bit! So don't stress, I get the impression they can control everything quite easily through the drugs/dosages etc.

So any news on when you'll be going for your appointment?

hi polly im going in on monday afternoon, i now have the oppossite problem and im worried af will show up late, i thought it was due on monday 17th but had lots of cramping etc earlier this week so thought it would be early but now hardly any cramping at all and re checked my calender and have seen its due tommorrow.

how are you hun x

hmmm that's annoying, it is frustrating when AF is so unpredictable! Can you call them on Monday morning and ask them if you should still go in? I had made an appointment for last Monday and the clinic told me just to phone and reschedule if AF didn't appear (but in the end it did)

I'm doing ok thanks - am now on day 5 on my injections (so 5 days in all of the menopur (FSH) and on my 3rd day of the antagonist med). I feel like I've been feeling the effects of the drugs almost from the start even though the nurse said I probably wouldn't get any side effects this week. Have been feeling quite bloated and generally uncomfortable in the abdominal region - I called the clinic this morning to check and they said this didn't sound too unusual. Am going for another scan and blood test first thing Monday anyway so they will check me out then. Just hoping that they haven't given me too big a dosage and aren't overstimulating me already.... The injections themselves aren't too bad though so don't be worrying too much about them.

wow 5 days already thats going really quickly, are you wearing looser clothes if your feeling uncomfortable at least this is a quick protocol once it gets going lol x

Oh same old, same old hun
I have got to lose another 32lb before we can be referred for treatment, so working hard on that. Lost nrly 2 stones so far and another 32lb to go.
Just seems to be taking forever just to get to stage of referral. My life is on hold really.
Im sure any woman going thru IVF knows that feeling though huh?

Glad all is progressing nicely for you and cnt wait to be posting about my cycle soon xxx

not been organised enough to buy looser clothes, just been slobbing about in trackie bottoms all weekend - more room for my expanding tum to breathe!
Yup I am really glad that I am on the short protocol, tomorrow is day 7 of stims for me tomorrow already so it is passing by pretty quickly. I think we are lucky to miss out on the whole down regging phase. The 2ww will be the hardest and longest bit I reckon..
