hiya ladys im 16 weeks pregnant and the past cuple of days ive had a stich like pain in the middle lower tummy and only hurts when i start walking evan walking around the house it stops when i still down or stand still . do i need to worrie ??? im so freeking out i just want this pregnancy to go well x please help ladys

Sounds like possible round ligament pain which is normal but if your concerned speak to your midwife or GP. x

Hi, I had the exact same thing 2 days ago, but in the lower right of my stomach. I was worried too so I went to the doctor and she really put my mind at ease - listened to the heartbeat, did a urine test, had a good prod of my uterus! She thinks I pulled a muscle or trapped a nerve, so easy to do when pregnant, and that it had nothing to do with baby. I was still anxious but it's really eased off now and only comes back when I'm very active, so I've decided to believe her and not worry anymore. I would definitely recommend seeing your doctor or midwife, just to reassure you that it's nothing serious, but if it is the same thing I had then it is normal and nothing to worry about.

Nothing to worry about - it's where the ligaments are loose and stretching - I had the same thing - still comes back every now and then - just don't overdo it! xx

aww thanks ladys i listen to heartbeat monday and im sure its not baby but as this is my second baby and didnt have it with my first i thought wat the hell is going on x im resting alot to make it go away x im at midwife thursday x

See I'm 17 weekks and I've had this stitch like/muscular pain the upper right of my stomach...... bit worried about it - definitely worse if I move around/bend....... anyone else experience this?

I get this all the time. Mainly under my bump on the right hand side but ocasionally on both sides. I can only describe it as feeling like a stitch from what you would have got from running or something.

I only get it when moving about. Sometimes I get it when i've only walked a few steps, other times I can walk for miles without a problem.

I felt it ease if I put my hands under my bump to give it a little bit of support.

I spoke to my midwife about this yesterday who confirmed it's nothing to worry about and it's VERY common. She says it's likely positioning of the baby or ligaments stretching out. She suggests holding your tummy like i've been doing, slowing down or stopping if it's hurting and also considering buying some of those "bump bands" for a little bit more support.

See your midwife/GP for re-assurance if you like but if it's what I had then it's perfectly normal. I freaked out completely the first time it happened! :)
