Baby is 6.5 months and before we introduced solids, would poop 1-2 times a day. After starting solids, would skip a day or two but poop usually comes out soft. So our pediatrician said not to worry. But this time he hasn't pooped in 3 days which I know isn't a lot but it is compared to his usual self. We feed him once a day after bm so he usually only eats 2 ounces. We give him some p- food every other day like plum and prune juice but still no poop. I just wonder if we shouldn't be feeding him solids everyday? Or should we just get used to the not pooping several days in a row thing now?

Emma only poos once every 4-7 days, she seems fine.

That's fine. Especially during that adjustment period when they're still new to solids, they might not poop every day. They might go a week, and it will work itself out. All of my LOs went through this, and I can attest that it will pass - literally. My fourth-born is now 14m and poops several times a day, although he went up to a week at a time when he first started solids.

I would just carry on as you are. Mine was only pooing about every 4-5 days before she started solids. It's normal as their tummies adjust and you'll have to do it eventually, so I wouldn't delay it just because he is a little constipated. Just keep feeding lots of fluids (formula or bm) and I'd focus on high fibre foods, so fruit and veg and not just loads of rice porridge, which is more constipating. I would probably not rush to feed 3 meals a day at this point, and just keep it at 1-2 meals a day so you can ease into it. But no, I'd just keep going. It will be a transition whenever you do it so I don't think there's any reason to delay. We didn't have constipation, but we did have some seeming stomach discomfort for a couple weeks, but it calmed down after that.

Thanks we are definitely focusing on high fiber things now. After I posted he pooped twice on one day and seemed normal. But then today passed a chunk of solid poop so think he was probably constipated. We're giving him green beans today though so I guess we'll just do a bit more fibrey foods next to get him back on track.

Constipation while weaning is definitely normal. High fiber will work great. I tend to baby led wean, so I just feed my babies what I'm having. Lots of fruit to go with it. I'd feed prunes once per day every day to keep the stools soft, especially after baby has had one solid bowel movement. It helps to keep the next one in line softer.
