Stop toddler touching his ear?

My 19 month old has a sore ear lobe that is weeping because he pulls it and fiddles with it constantly, he has been doing it for ages, it will scab up and he will pull the scab off and it just seems like a continuous cycle

The doctor prescribed him antibiotics for impetigo which I thought would help but they finished a week ago and no difference.

Sour has anyone got any ideas on how I can keep his ear covered to stop him touching it? He pulls plasters off!

Will look a bit dramatic but I'd bandage it. Kids picking things is a nightmare, I remember my cousin had a chicken pox by her ear, that she picked and picked and picked and because they get bigger every time she now has a scar right down her jawline! I bet she regrets that now she's 18!

We reached the bandage point when lex was scratching the eczema on her knees so bad she gouged her skin off and ended up on antibiotics for an infection.

The crepe stretchy ones are light and easy to use, you can get the padded dressings to pop over the sore bit under the bandage and use plenty of micropore tape to keep it on.
