We've come to the end of our tub of formula and was thinking of going straight onto cows milk? Any thoughts?

xx xx

I personally think you should wait until 12mo...it's what's recommended here, and what we did, I just think they aren't ready before a year. But we did switch cold turkey, never mixed the 2 or anythig like that to wean them from formula

I would agree to wait until 12 months before switching over to cows milk but that's just my opinion. I would say that when you do switch to just try switching straight over without mixing that's what I did and had no problems DD accepted it fine.

Thanks ladies.

I know what you've said are very valid answers and I appreciate your help just unsure why she will be fine on Cows milk in 3 weeks but not this week - ooh the mine field of having babies eh?

xx xx

I think it's because there is a range in which babies bodies mature enough and are ready for it, so by waiting until 12mo you are waiting until they are more likely ready for it. Kind of like solids babies intestines and bodies aren't mature enough to handle it until between 4-7mo I think it is so they recommend you wait until 6mo to increase the chances that their body will be ready for it. She might be ready for it now but I personally would wait to insure that she will be

my lo is going onto cows milk when this tin is done, maybe 2/3 days, she'll be 1 in 2weeks and 1day time

I started Erin on cows milk 4 days ago, she will be 1 next saturday. She is absolutely fine with it and I actually think she prefers it. xx
