Stopping sterilising at 6m...

In a mum & baby group today, and the health visitor mentioned that you can actually stop sterilising from 6months, and also tap water can now be given at 6months not 1year old.

Just wondering if anyone knew, as some people may hate doing it! Not sure what I think, but was quite interested really as I always though it was still 1year

Yep I knew this think I stopped at 7/8 months and you know what Ive forgot what I did regarding boiling water already LMAO I wouldn't give them straight tap water from 6 months though ...if I did Im horrified with myself although I always use the filter.

Nope appears I dropped both the middle of July! So Caitlin was 7 half months!

we still boil Hannah's water and sterilize Not much of a pain now though as she only has 2 bottles a day....it just got to the point where I figured I might as well keep it up as she's almost a year old

yep we still sterilise and use boiled water too going to continue till she's finished with the bottles now i think x

I think i'll probably continue steralising things.... although I never see it now as completely getting rid of germs, more like keeping them to a low level. Harry is in nursery and comes home filthy - his dummy is always on the floor there too - sometimes I wonder why I bother steralising at all!!!

I stopped sterilising Lucy's bottles at 6 months and started giving her tap water last month. Not had a problem at all

we didnt really stop sterilizing completly as im a worrier lol and i still use boiled water i only use tap water if i need a cool bottle fast n add tap to boiled. we now have a dishwasher so ive put the sterilizer away.

do what is best for u x
