My LO usually feeds every 3 hours during the day, roughly at 8.30am, 11.30am, 2.30pm, 5.30pm and then has her bedtime bottle at 7.30. I then give her a dreamfeed at 11pm. She is sleeping through the night. Recently on a couple of occasions she has missed out one of her feeds during the day (either the 11.30 or 2.30 feed) or she hasn't finished the feed. If she misses a feed it's usually because her timings have changed and isn't ready for a feed or she has had a longer sleep than usual!

My OH thinks that because she is missing a feed during the day that we could try not giving her the dreamfeed at 11pm and hopefully she will have all her feeds in the day.

However I'm not sure about dropping the 11pm feed because I'm wondering if, at 4 months, she is still too young to go 13 hours without a feed. When she misses a feed in the day the longest she goes is 5 hours!

At what age did your LOs start to go 12-13 hours through the night? When did you drop the late evening feed?

My little girl is now 2 but she used to feed every 4 hours and quitely early on dropped her 11pm feed and increased her other feeds. How many ozs is she having on her other feeds it could be that she's making up for missed bottles at other times.

That sounds ok!! What health visitor told me was to multiply 2.5oz of milk by each pound of body weight so 10lb x 2.5oz = 25 oz of milk every day. They do start dropping feeds as they get older in preparation for solids. My daughter started eating a tiny bit of baby rice at 4.5 months. They tend to tell you what they want and don't want. Don't worry. Hope this helps.

My LO is 11 weeks, and last night went 13 hours through the night for the first time.

I'm not worried about it (actually rather pleased!) - if he's hungry he will wake up!

My LO is 11 wks today :happydance: having 6oz every 4-5 hrs inc 2oz of cooled water a day and sleeps from about 8pm till i wake him up at 7.30 for mad school run HV Say's to leave him cos it mite not last :haha: Its really nice to be getting sleep after 8 wks of colic god bless Dr brown bottles x

We stopped the 11pm dreamfeed a few weeks ago, connah is now 6 months and will go 12/13 hours at night. I think he would have done this sooner but we wanted to wait until we weaned before dropping the dreamfeed.

We dropped the dreamfeed on xmas day, Ruby was just shy of 8m. We didn't think she needed it any more as she often refused it and still slept through.

Lucy is 9 weeks and 5 days and goes between 12 and 13 hours through the night without a feed, she dropped the 11 feed herself as she was too young to dreamfeed!! She has her final feed at 7pm and then can sometimes go til 8 before she wants her morning feed!!

They say to wait until weaning but we went for it at 21 weeks as she was only having a 3oz dreamfeed she was having 4 9oz bottles every 4 hours through the day.
She did wake an hour earlier until we started weaning when she slept 12/13 hours again.
