Storing breast milk

Hi. I am wondering if it is ok to store breast milk in normal snack/ sandwich bags? Ones that seal closed. My midwife told me I could do this so I have been but I mentioned it to a friend and she said it's a bad idea so I Googled it and seemed to get the same response! So now I'm worried that I'm gonna have to throw away 11 weeks worth of milk :'(

I don't think it matters other than leaking hazard. Be careful when you thaw it and double bag for extra precaution. And as always Never microwave breast milk!

I think the problem is that they are not sterilised. Breast milk bags are sterilised but I don't know how much this matters. Maybe ask a doctor or health visitor.
