If I am trying to freeze breastmilk can I mix it from different sessions to store it? Or does each session of pumping require a new bag to store it in the freezer or can I keep some in the fridge then when I have done a days worth of pumping put it all in a bag and freeze it?

You're supposed to combine at the same temperature, so if you have different sessions that have all been in the fridge and are the same temperature you can mix them and freeze together.

That said, I've never actually known WHY that's the rule. :haha:

Okay thanks haha. I was hoping that would be the case!

They recommend mixing milk at the same temperature because if you add warm milk to cold milk it could curdle. Then you lose the whole lot.

Kinda unrelated and you've prob already thought of this but it is a good idea to freeze smaller amounts of milk too in case your LO is still hungry after finishing a feed, then you don't have to defrost a whole portion

You can combine milk from different sessions into the same bag. I do it all the time and then put it into the freezer.
