hey all,

just tried using my doppler yesterday and today and i can hear my own heartbeat all over and also very strange alien noises lol:haha: its weird theres a noise like waves and wind which i guess is the placenta but theres also alot of kinda underwater gurgly wooshy type noises????

anyone had this its not frequent its very random and always in the sameish place:shrug: any ideas???

thanks
xx

i have the wind noise too its like wind through the trees very weird! not sure what that is. also sometimes when im listening to the heartbeat i hear what sound like underwater movement? i dont know if im hearing baby move or if its something else? xx

Sounds like its the baby moving around! You just have to search a little harder :happydance:

yay i was thinking it must be babys movement as im hearing the heartbeat the same time :cloud9: leame are you trying right on your public bone with the sensor tilted in? you need to put a fair amount of pressure on it too xx

i cant here a heartbeat though apart from mine getting in the way lol :( also does anyone know if the doppler could pick up the heartbeat on the screen but not transfer it to audio im sure ive found it twice as the screen says 150-170bpm but never any sound??? xx

yes that is your baby! sometimes if baby is too far away from sensor, the doppler picks up the heartbeat but it isn't strong enough to convert to sound :D unfortunately i dont have a display on mine so i have to rely on hearing it hehe xx

ahhh i wish i could no for definate though not got my scan for another 2 weeks so petrified of not seeing anything :( they noises are bloody strange though maybe sprout is moving to much for it to be picked up properly??? talk about PARANOID! congrats on hearing yours though!! xx

Have you tried right after you've got #1 and #2? Sounds strange, but I was trying it in the morning and realized that I heard a ton of gurgles and just strange noises becasue I ....hadn;t gone potty yet:) I think I was getting a lot of bowel noises.

What kind do you have? I have Hi Bebe and its very very noisy. I pick up the alien noises still but now can hear baby in all of the madness. Takes a bit of practice dont get nervous yet! You technically are still early and should happen any time now.

yeah ive tried before and after and three times in 2 days its still in the same place i get the doppler over it hear all the noises and the monitor starts going up usually goes to about 120bpm then the noises move slightly lol i have no idea whats going on:shrug:

Yeah! It sounded like a hurricane in there! LOL
I tried for soo long to find the heartbeat but I couldn't .. I saw it the next day on the ultrasound so I know he's OK! It must have just been too early or he was realllly hiding. lol

hurricane! thats a good way to explain it put its on and off is it normal to hear movement and no heartbeat izzy have you found it again yet?

x

the wind wooshy type noise is the waters, the pulsing is the blood in the placenta. My baby tends to like to deafen me flipping at just the right time :haha:

Hey ladies I have hi bebe doppler, the noises u pick up are, the placenta whooshing, ur maternal vessels ur heatbeat, static from movin the doppler around, the baby 120-160 bpm an bowel rumbles xxx

it is really loud when LO moves isnt it hehe. i think its so cute when you are listening to the heartbeat then hear a load of banging around & the heartbeat moves over a bit awww LO trying to escape the doppler :haha:

itd just be great to hear the heartbeat would love to think the movement is actually movement and not digestion lol! :)

I have the added advantage of feeling it move as well so I know its definitely the baby. Somedays its like a game of chase :haha:

Leame- are you using tons of gel and laying flat? You could try to put a pillow under your back also. Try to go super duper low and move up a tad from the pelvic bone. POssibly you have a tilted uterus also. I have one thats super far back and tilted a lot so I know why mine is hard to find. Have you known if you do?

no no idea if it is tilted or not?? could you hear movement but not the heartbeat that way?? x

Well, you would hear movements in the abdomen...whether its uterus, bladder, bowel, or baby idk. I hear stuff even when I cannot find baby for the moment but couldn't be sure if its baby until I hear the heartbeat. I just know that tilted uterus can make them back further in your body and thats tough to hear until your uterus comes forward or up. Its possible, but tougher.

Also- my doc knows i've got a doppler and says if anything ever worries me to just stop in and even a nurse could listen for baby real quick with their doppler for reassurance. Maybe yours would do that for you and teach you where and how to find your baby?
