Anyone have it? Had it whilst pregnant? I've been told I have and going to docs tomorrow to discuss it. I'm worried x

I didn't but my sister did. Absolutely nothing to worry abut. as many as 1/3 of woman have it. It's just a bacteria that's harmless to adults but can cause an infection to baby during delivery. My sister wanted to labor at home for awhile, but they told her she might have to come a little earlier so they could administer the iv antibiotics and get them circulated through baby before it was born to prevent infection. Most woman get iv's anyway so it wasn't anything too out of the norm. If your waters have been broken for awhile they'll do the same thing.

Yup, I had it with ds and it's not big deal. You just need antibiotics during delivery.

I had it while pregnant with my son. You have nothing to worry about ! Just an extra IV during delivery !

I had it with dd, got iv antibiotics during labor and they don't want you to labor longer than 24 hours once water broken ..
This time around at my normal check up they said my urine culture came back positive with group b strep... I've never had that but they put me on antibiotics right now, and thenow of course I'll have antibiotics in labor eventually , but still worrisome to need antibiotics now!!!!

I had it twice. The first time the results only came in 36 hours after I delivered my ds and so he was monitored for 24 hours and we left to go home. The second time I had a swab test at 37 weeks which came back positive. I was told I needed two lots of antibiotics four hours apart so make sure I came in at the beginning of labour. Well when I got to the hospital they put in the line and told me they would hang the antibiotics soon but not to worry as I was only one centimetre and I had plenty of time. Dd was born twenty minutes later without me having any antibiotics. That meant that my dd had to get a line in and get antibiotics twice a day for the next three days.

My sisters friend had it but didn't know about and her baby ended up quite poorly after delivery, I think the key thing is that you know and can start any necessary treatment now

Been given antibiotics now and I'll have an iv drip during labour and stay for 24hrs for baby to be monitored x
