I have an electirc steriliser which is great but the element- like a round flat metal plate at the bottom has got limescale on it. What is the best/ safest way to clean it?

when u buy it they should give u this little pack u need to poor that in and switch it on, but if u dont have that i would just say hot water

Bicarbonate of Soda will de scale it... says in my instructions.... let it run a full cycle empty then a full cycle empty with just water... bobs ya uncle.

Says we should do this every 4 weeks

Mines a tommee tippee steam steriliser xx

Mothercare sell steriliser descaler, saw it last week, it was next to the sterilising tablets i was buying.

My tommee tippee one says to use citric acid but i am yet to do it xx

Is it not ok to just give it a rinse and wipe if its all not stuck down?? Just wondering??

with my avent IQ one i got packs of citric acid with it which i do every 4 weeks or so!

Use citric acid hunny or you can use a normal descaler, i get mine from Tesco's :)

normal descaler is safe then.

I suppose so, I use water from the kettle that I put descaler in :dohh:
