So I'm really disappointed. Today I have noticed my first belly stretch marks!! 3 little ones either side of my belly. I've had stretch marks on my hips and legs from when I was a teenager and I got them on my boobs early on...so I did think I was going to get them on my belly. So I've been using bio oil night and day since the end of my first trimester before there was even any sign of a bump!! Then I've had people telling me that if you've not got them at the start of your third trimester then your likely to not get them, so I was relieved but continued to use the bio oil. Turned out they have been lying to me :( now I know they are only gonna get bigger and more of them I'm so gutted about it.

Just had to have a little rant!!

With my DD i never had a single stretch mark til last week or so. Thot i'd escaped them. However, they virtually disappeared a few months after her birth, so much so that i'd have worn a bikini and not have worried about them.

This time stretch marks came earlier, same place but not going to stress as i'm sure if i keep taking care of my skin, they will fade like before x

I hope they fade so much to disappear...I wanna still be able to wear bikinis on holiday and still feel sexy in underwear when I want to! I'm worried my OH will hate my post pregnancy body!

Awww don't worry, 90% of women get them during pregnancy! I too was hoping I would be one of the lucky ones but I've recently noticed the start of one by my belly button, and with 8 weeks to go I'm bound to get more =/ however you probably won't get them very bad if you're only now seeing them! (That's what I'm telling myself too!) ;)

With my first baby I got my first signs of them at 36 weeks and by the end my belly was a road map! But they really do fade and especially when you've got sun on them, you wouldn't even know they are there!

This time around, my belly has stretched but the stretchmarks from before haven't gone red or anything yet so fingers crossed!!

I only got some with DD and then they faded... this time I have alot more

I'm a lotion psycho and the front of my tummy had many by 20 weeks. Some have already started turning white, but I still have many purple ones. My sister and my mother had them. You can't even tell they had them anymore unless the point them out. It's kind of annoying because I thought I did everything to try and prevent them, but I'm having a big baby boy and hubby and I are happy :)

I know the baby will be worth it in the end...I'm also over the moon that baby is growing well and everything. Just sad about my tummy and the way its going to end up looking. Looks like I'm in the majority of 90% rather then the minority which I had really hoped for!

It's official though bio oil does not stop stretch marks occurring!!

awww RC !!
I found some stretch marks near my navel a few days ago..
I thought they were a rash LOL..
but when they didn't disappear I was like

OHHH NOOOo stretchmarks!!!!!

hey!! we are tigers! and we earned our stripes!!! haha!
xx

I got a couple on my thighs at 34 weeks and kept thinking well that's fine, just not on my tummy. Woke up this morning at 37+3 and wouldn't you know 3 of them showed up over night on my belly :( I guess I can just hope that mine won't look like my moms road map when I'm done

I was the same when growing up I got stretch marks on my thighs and breasts but all faded and they're not noticeable so I was expecting to get some on my tummy as well but no where near as bad as what they are. I have them from about 3 inches above my belly button and I have one going as low as my pubic bone basically. I have a few puffy ones that are quite painful :( A few midwives I've seen (I'm going public so I don't have the same midwife for my visits) have said that no amount of cream/oil will prevent them from happening. I find that moisturising does help with the puffy painful ones though. I hope you don't get them too bad!

I didn't think i cared at all about them, I was like eh whatever until I was having a bad day and burst into tears when I saw my tummy in the mirror. But your right bubba's definitely worth it in the end and I'm sure they'll go down after the birth.

I also got stretch marks during puberty, so I didn't think I'd care about them now. I didn't have any until about a week ago I woke up to bright red ones above my belly button out of no where. I think it bothered me because i thought i was going to get through without any. Oh well :/ battle scars? Haha

No amount of oil or lotion will prevent them, but it might help with the itching nad with fading afterwards.
I was covered in them with DD and they faded away to nothing afterwards.
They've only started becoming noticeable again now and I don't have new ones yet. Am fully expecting them though!

Thanks at least I've some hope that I keep using oil they will fade to nothing after baby is here!
