Seriously so fed up.
Have just phoned them because I haven't had a confirmation letter - told me they'd sent it and to check online...
I did check online, and apparently I don't have a child??? WTF???
I'm so fed up and angry, I've had so many bloody problems with them, I sent them her sodding birth certificate, what more do they bloody well want!
Now I'm on hold AGAIN because I want to find out exactly wtf they are playing at.

Does anyone else have this trouble? Am I just completely useless at paperwork or what?

it took them AGES to sort mine out last year and i had to send them Paige's birth cert in twice then they said they never received it, and to give it another week-again didnt find it, kept ringing up and eventually the found it but it hadnt been entered onto the system. I had a nightmare with them but it did all get sorted in the end!
Hope it gets sorted soon!

Thanks, I feel like it's not a normal month unless I've had some sort of panic with them lol!
I just spent about 10 minutes crying at a nice Irish man on the phone, who eventually told me they hadn't processed my childcare grant form which is apparently why issy doesn't exist
As long as I get SOME money at the start of term to keep me going that's what I'm focussing on right now...

they did that to me too, you will def get your fees paid nd your maintanency loan in. but they too a while to sort my childcare grant aswell. i got the max I could for maintenance loan and a parents learning grant so had enough money to pay for he nursery then just swapped the money over when the grant came through. Tyr not to worry about it, i found the more i hasslesed them the moe they got done! And they do try and get at least you maintenance loan to you on time

Yeah, I've had the maintenance loan and grant confirmed
I think my main problem with them is a lot of the people on the phone just don't seem to think before they speak...like i spoke to someone earlier and explained my problem and he was like 'you're probably not entitled to a childcare grant then'
For him that probably didn't mean a lot but for me that meant 'you can't afford to go back to uni' so it would've saved me a lot of stress, upset and anger if he'd actually checked what the problem was rather than just guessing!

yes! i can totally understand that! stupid people. someone told me one day i didnt have to pay anything back when i left uni as i left at the end of a term so had completed the period of the course i had been paid for. the next week i get a letter saying i owed 4 grand!! so that was a lovely surpise when i had just got comfortable thinking i was in the clear!!

i have found i go round speaking to several people and no one gives you the same answer so frustrating!!!

Don't even get me started we have the main part of our loan done. (we did that in April) but the childcare grant! Damn we are waiting 5 months now to get it sorted! We sent it off and for 4 months they failed to tell us that we missed something out! And now we are looking to get it November time at least! it's like they don't want to give out the money!

Words cannot express how much student finance annoy me.

They are expecting me to keep a family of 3 for 1000 pound in 3 installments. My rent alone is 625

Well - I had a letter from them today. Apparently because my oh had a pay rise issy is suddenly financially dependent on him and not me so I'm not entitled to a childcare grant. And this is 3 days before the start of term.
I am so goddamn angry and upset right now. I feel like I might not even be able to go back now - like the past year of hard work and the extra 6 grand of debt were a waste of fucking time.

Shit, is there any way that you can talk to your lecturers/nursery and maybe find a way to put her in for 1/2 days a week and try and do as much as you can at home?

I've still not got my childcare grant but the nursery took the money out my bank anyway! Left me £200 overdrawn! So I've had to borrow £200 until monday off Max!

Student finance treat everyone disgusting especially student parents. Who do they think has to pay for the nursery fee's while they're fucking about playing tetris are on the computer? Gets me soooo angry so far i'm getting 'nothing' and i start tomorrow?! had to send her birth cert in twice as they didn't scan it before but never wrote to me to tell me, so when i rang to check progress they told me? What are we feeding our children with while they're messing around, surely we're the priority out of all students? GRRRRRR
