student mom's ?

i don't mind blood... in fact i am such a bad student, i am taking blood (with supervision) technically before i am allowed. we are allowed to do pretty much anything at the discretion of our mentors, but my tutors where in heart failure when i said i had done bloods several times on my past two patients... :haha:

when i go back for 2nd year we get an elective, a&e and community placement... i am hoping cardiology again for my elective, a&e local, and do loads of w/e nights... and health visitor for my community :cloud9:

I'm in 2nd year uni, and when I was pregnant, though it ended in m/c, I looked all this up and I think it's manageable. My university offer childcare, send you classes at home if needed, rearrange exams etc for you, and have a fund you apply for to cover childcare costs. In Scotland I think SAAS also give you an extra bursary :)

OMG chel607, I'm in Sunderland uni :D
I'm due in January and I'm planning on only taking a semester off rather than a year out.
I'm starting my second year in September, but I'm doing a computing degree.
You'll be spending a lot of time in Ashbrooke if you're doing photography, I'm based at St. Peters.
I emailed the creche woman and she's offered me a tour of the creche and said I can apply now even though I'm still pregnant because for the baby room there's a waiting list, so I'm going to email her back and arrange a date to go with my OH to view it.
I was so excited when I saw that you're going to Sunderland uni! :D

most have a daycare near by
im going to sunderland uni and they have a daycare right next to teh uni thatis for students babies and they take the babies from age 3 months to 6 an they are open from 8 till 9 at night which is really flexible ^_^

which uni were u planning on going to ?
and im sure when you go for the open day u can ask abotu childcare and they will tell you all the plans and details that can be aranged for you

most uni's in the uk are really good with helping young mums

i have a really good friend who had her lil girl when she was 4 months into her course they gave her as much time afta the birth as she needed and sent her the work online so she did fall behind.

xx

You're not too far from me, I'm at Northumbria.

I've just finished my second year, taking a full year out and then going back in Sept 2011. I don't know how it'll turn out because it'll be my final year and they say that's the hardest but baby will be 1 ish by then and I won't feel like I've missed out on his first year if that makes sense. If I went back this year he might only be a few days old and I'd hate that.

Wow, i'm off to uni in September and I can't imagine having to raise a child aswell as the workload.

You girls are amazing! :) Good luck to you all!
