So I have a lovely winnie the pooh wicker moses basket... It all looked lovely and the hood was staying up a treat... then I decided I was going to take it all apart so I could wash all of the bedding etc before LO arrives..
now i cant get the hood to go back on properly... I have no Idea where the screws screw into... there are also these little elastic band things coming off the side of the hood and I have no idea where these go.
Ive been trying to put it back together for well over an hour and have even shed a tear im getting so sad and really wound up by it!

Is it the one from Mothercare?
If it is I have that one too and struggled getting the hood back on to begin with! The screw goes through the basket just above the handle, then the plastic washer thing goes on the screw from the outside then the hood bar things and then the screw cap. Don't tighten the screw cap too much to begin with and then put the elastics under the screw cap and tighten the screw cap fully. I've found the hood sits nicely if you put the hood over the basket just a small amount at the back, pull it too far down the basket and it pulls the hood down.

Hope this helps :hugs:

thankyou hun, i think its doing the job... I managed to get the hood to stay up a lil while ago but it just didnt look right! cant believe im letting myself get so upset over something so small! I spose I could just leave it with the hood off but it would be a shame cus its so pretty!
xx

I had the same with my Mamas and Papas basket yesterday! I took everything off to wash, then when it came to putting everything back on I just couldn't make sense of it. It took me and my husband (who used to be a mechanical engineer!) over 40 minutes to work out how to get everything back on properly. So if my husband was struggling then there's no hope for the rest of us! :D

I had the same thing too!! I had to google the picture in the end to try and get the bloody thing back together!! Xx

haha Im glad im not alone! I ended up snapping at my other half... " oh for god sake just give it back if you cant do it!" lol poor bugger!
I dont understand why manufactures then make things for us so complicated when our hormones are everywhere and patience tested a hundred times a day... They should make things for pregnant women... simply simple!

I've been lent the Winnie the pooh Moses basket and have had the same problem. Got it together after washing but can't get the hood to stay up!

I think I have manages to solve it but still not sure if it is in the right place... I have placed the screw and bolt thing about 2 wicker holes from the beginning strap of the handles with a washer either side of the wicker. I havent tried to get the back of the hood too tight as I just find this pulls it back down again.
would you like me to post a picture ?

Generally Moses basket hoods are a bitch! I had a mamas and papas one for DS which never ever stayed up. I've bought an izziwotnot one this time and it's the same. I don't think it matters how much you pay for it or where it's from. There just out to piss us off!

Why did you take it all off to wash lol baby only touches the sheets! I'm not sure why you are stressing about having the hood up? It's best to keep it bright in the day and dark at night for the first 6m whether the baby is napping or not so no need to put the hood up.
As others have said the bolts just go through the basket and the eleastic band goes over the bolt to keep the hood fabric taught.
Also I remember with mine that there wasn't really ever enough fabric for the hood to actually go up which is another reason I think it's just for show.

Honestly ... because I was struggling with things to do yet another white was so shoved it in for the sake of it !
Stressing because thats the sort of person I am and after a difficult couple of weeks due to personal issues the littlest thing is stressing and upsetting at the moment... partly due to hormones... and i managed to do it after the first bit of advice I received... Just glad im not the only person struggling and getting stressed with this !
haha x
