stupid question getting lo to suck again!

This is getting so frustrating! Lo is on sma staydown with dr browns and y cut teats! Since being on these teats she was fine at 1st but as the teats started to split she would just push the teat with her tounge now I have new teats again she won't suck just keeps pushing it against the top of her mouth and she's getting frustrated and so am I its taking forever to feed her! Has anyone experienced this? X x

My LO on Tommy Tippee but I m having similar probs at mo. She pushes bottle out, cries for more, this is repeated throughout the feed, apart from the first feed!

Spoke to HV in baby group who said she could well be teething!

My mum seen today how angry she gets with the bottle and said maybe try faster teat or hungry baby formula. She is already on 3month plus teats! The HV at our last visit 3 wks ago did say she might need hungrier baby soon.

Now I'm not sure what to do first:

teething powder & then try her with bottle or up the teat size or try hungrier baby formula?!

ive been having same problem as you with teats. size 3s too slow and frustrated lo and y's slightly to fast.

i just tried him tonight with an avent variflow. the teat fit my dr browns perfect and he took to it really well but thats only 1 feed in. will see how it goes tomorrow.

have you considered a different teat brand. the wide neck ones are all similar size i think x

i would try a little teething powder first just before her feed and see how this goes then maybe try a faster teat. i dont think hungry baby milk would make a difference to how she takes the bottle tbh. this usually just fills them up for longer x

My son was doing this he is teething ( at a very young age) and I would just softly tap his chin to encourage him to suck his bottle this is what the mid wife told me to do before worrying to much as it's what they do for a new born if they won't suck. Hope this helps

Thank you. Loz I went out sunday and got the avent variflow but she hates these teats I think its coz there harder. I have managed to get her to suck but only on her middle of the night feed as she's obv more hungry x x

yeah ive noticed they are a bit harder. my lo was still a little unsure this morning but he still managed a good feed. im going to persevere a bit longer. they arent daft are lo's lol x

Hehe no they are not! I think because they are harder she just doesn't like them. Ihave just been persevering and I think we will be getting there x x
