I know OPKs can only detect the rise in FSH, and do not 100% guarantee ovulation, so does the presence of EWCM mean you have definitely ovulated? And does your EWCM co-incide bang on with ovulation, as on me I get it 2 days before my OPKs start smiling!

Any advice much welcomed.

(totally understand I need to keep dtd through cycle, more wondering about timings.)

Thanks you gorgeous bunch of lovelies

EWCM means you are fertile but that does not mean you ovulated. Only way you can be sure that you ovulated is by charting. But if you are not charting then when you see EWCM you should start BD.You have more chances of getting pregnant if you BD around the time you see EWCM. Hope it helps.

Thanks.
My gp has told me not to temp as said it causes stress, and also my fertility specialist said not too, but I think I'll give it a go. It seems it's not reccomended by many here in the uk but loads of uk ladies on this forum do it, do I'll give it a try.
Thanks again x

Yes, you have to temp to confirm ov. opks and ewcm will tell you it's coming, but it can't confirm that it has happened.
None of my docs have ever been interested in my charting, but it has given me a ton of knowledge about my body. I don't do it anymore b/c I have done it so long it doesn't tell me anything I don't already know. And, like you mentioned, it causes stress. I don't sleep well b/c I am anxious to know what my temp will be. Then I don't know if my temp is elevated due to actual hormone changes, or interrupted sleep. It's a balancing act.

For me i have charted from last 2 cycles. Initially i used to feel tense but not anymore. Before i was charting I had a doubt that whether i was ovulating or not although my opk showed positive. But after 2 months of charting i am glad to know that i am ovulating and also my LP phase is ok.I think you should give charting a try.Baby dust to all of you :)

Exactly. It doesn't have to be so stressful. The key is to look at it like a tool just to confirm ovulation and basically leave it at that. It's easy to get hung up on a single temp, but if you can get over that and just wait till you see the overall pattern it's not so bad. It takes a while to get used to bc charts look weird when there aren't many temps in and there's always some wacky ones in there.

Thanks ladies much appreciated!
