has anyone had this or have this now. This is the first i heard about it. I went to the ER at 13 weeks with heavy gushes of bright red blood. They got a heartbeat and everything was fine. So the next mornig i went to my ob she said it was like a pocket of blood between the placenta and uterous wall. It was small and i would probably pass the rest of the blood everything woiuld be ok. Ive been back and forth to Dr for 2 weeks now. I went back Monday they said i was just passing the old stuff, no clots or cramping and have been put on bed rest since last Monday till i go see a specialist (which i knew i would have to see because of preclampsia with my last birth) She told me it was she same size and not any bigger than it was almost 3 weeks ago and i was only passing old and no new bleeding. Also they want me to get progestrone shots. Ive been freaking out i have two little girls and this is one is a boy. Im worried something will happen and i have been looking on the internet about it (big mistake) anyone have any advice or been through this. Thanks

I was diagnosed with this at 10 wks, I had two really bad bleeds. At about 12 wks, I passed a small amount of brown blood, and a few small clumps. Im now 24 +5 days and everything is ok.

I had this too,it was discovered at a scan when i was 5+2,had my 12 week scan on monday and my body ahd reabsorbed it,the doc's said that generally happens.

Hi all, I am new to this board so hope you dont mind me butting in but just need someone to talk to about my problem.

I had an early scan on Thursday as i had a very tiny amount of brown discharge, they found my baby and heartbeat I am only 6wks+6days pregnant but they also found a small bleed which they called a Hematoma (blood clot) only measured 1cm by 1.5cm which they said was very small. They seemed very laid back about it and said it was very common and not to worry. But I can stop worrying about it!! I have looked it up on the internet and is says it Placenta Abruption!!!! So worried something terrible is going to happen now. This is my 4th baby and I have never had this problem before?? I also havent had anymore discharge.

Can anyone offer any advice??
Many thanks
Louise

I had a SCH with my recent pregnancy..it was diagnosed at 7 weeks after a bleed and was told it had re absorbed..my little girl is now 4 months..despite being told at my 12 week scan I would probably lose her

I had bleeds during week 5. I had a scan and an area of bleeding was noted in my uterus, but it stopped that week and never had anymore and nothing had showed up on further scans x x

I am currently 13 weeks, on bedrest due to SCH. I spotted from weeks 5-7, then had a huge bleed and passed a clot at 11 weeks. I have been on bedrest since, the SCH was still there, 6cm with a 2 cm detachment of the placenta. Terrifying, but there really doesn't seem to be anything to do but rest and hope for the best. Easier said than done!

I had this with my first preg and things didnt really go too well but I think the positive outcomes far outweigh the tragic outcomes. This was my first preg so everything was very new to me and I really didnt know what king of care to expect nor did I know what was normal. I bled very badly throughout the first trimester and despite my complications I was never ever swabbed for infection which in my opinion was negligent practice by the so called professionals treating me.
The bleeding I had was heavy but intermittent so I would bleed then it would stop and then I would bleed again hindsight I definately should have rested much more than I did. My SCH was diagnosed at 18 weeks and I went into labour at 20 weeks but I suspect an infection brought on my labour, when finally admitted the hosp did eventually diagnose a infection although to this day I dont know what kind of infection it was. If I was to offer any advice it would be to rest, rest, rest, demand the best possible care preferably from an obstetrician you feel you can trust and not a registar or midwife and most importantly swabs for infections and checks for UTI's. Also showers instead of baths to reduce risk of infection and no sex.
I have read many positive stories about these haematomas so please stay positive, easier said than done I know. Be careful what you read on the internet because that itself can be a minefield of information.

I had a multiple SCH pregnancy. I had a small clot at 9 weeks, like most ppl thought I was miscarrying. Then I had a very large bleed at 16 weeks. I had another at 20 weeks and then everything was going great until 29 weeks. It was a medium bleed, never makes you feel great but I was told that everything was fine...cervix was great, clot didn't look bad, baby looked great. Then my water broke a week later. I could have just stayed in the hospital but then I had an abruption and had my son at 30 weeks. I think my issue was the # of clots and that weakened my membranes and caused my water to break. It was just so unexpected since I was finally in my 3rd trimester and the bleeding seemed to finally stop. The one I has at 29 weeks wasn't hardly anything compared to some of the earlier ones that caused spotting all through my 1st and 2nd trimester. The one at 29 weeks also stopped almost immediately. My only advice is to keep hope...many women go on to have normal pregnancies and take it easy..if anything does go wrong it's the worst feeling to think you may have caused it. At the same time be prepared...I wished I would have at least packed a hospital bag early so I didn't have to send my husband to get some clothes and to have him return with most of them being pre-pregnancy:wacko:...With all the problems I had I also feel lucky that I made it that far. My son is now 4 months old and is a little angel we are both doing wonderfully.
