Ladies, I had a scary trip to the ER yesterday after losing a lot of blood. The ultrasound showed baby measuring fine (9 weeks) and hb was good at 173, but because of the location of the hematoma, my placenta is lifting away from the uterine wall. I'm on bed rest now but freaking out a little.

Has anyone else experienced this or anything like it? Hoping for reassurance

Thank you :flower:

Hi
I am not as far along as you, but was told a few days ago I have this as well. It is a sac of blood beside the gestational sac. I have to go back next week to check on the size. I was 6 weeks 1 day, and went in because of bleeding but not heavily. I have also had cramps since 5 weeks and spotting since 5 weeks 2 days. Today I am 6 weeks 3 days, and still having cramping when moving around a lot and lifting (I work in daycare so its hard not to lift) I wonder if I will be put on bedrest if the sac gets bigger?, I hope thats not the case, and I hope we can both get an all clear soon!

Staysea, I see my obgyn on Friday and I'm praying she doesn't put me on bed rest because I need to work! Ugh.... from everything I've read it seems like no one can agree on whether bed rest is helpful or not. I think it's actually kind of common..

how have things been going?
I have had another ultrasound and it looks like the area is only 1 cm, and was told that hopefully my body will absorb it. Taking it easy for now and waiting two weeks for another scan to see if it is smaller or larger or hopefully gone!!

Wow, that's great news that yours is so little now!! :) my obgyn told me I can go to work, and at my last ultrasound the sch had shrunk one inch..but still measuring 3 cm. I was told not to worry and they'll be keeping an eye on it. So, I'm 11 weeks this Sunday and trying to relax and enjoy. :)

Hi

I am actually going through the same thing. I started bleeding at 4 weeks 3 days which was only 4 days after i found out i was pregnant. I actually thought that it was the start of a misscarriage. i went to the doctors and they said that i wasnt miscarriying and that it was the hematoma which measured 7 cm. I am 11 weeks today and am still bleeding daily, some days its bright red blood and other days its nearly black.

I still havent had my date for the 12 week scan which is making me nervous as i would like to see that hb.

Have you guys had continuous bleeding since you found out about the hematoma.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this too. I haven't had continuous bleeding but since the first big bleed I've been spotting on and off. :( I keep reading that it's common but seeing the heart beat is definitely reassuring!

I am so happy I found this post!

9 days ago I had a HUGE gush of blood at 7w4d, the evening before my first ultrasound. I was certain I miscarried, tho the dr on call told me I was fine if I wasn't having cramps. (I wasn't)

I had always heard the odds of miscarrying after IVF was much higher than others, so I was positive that is what happened.

I went in, and was completely shocked that we not only saw a baby in its sac, but actually heard the heart beat. Everything measured normal :) My hubby and I were sobbing.

Fortunately, my hematoma is a little under the sac, but I have had spotting ever since, from bright red to dark brown. Just as I think its getting better, it gets worse again.

I have another ultrasound tomorrow, but Im still terrified. I have no true symptoms other than tiredness. And now that Im on restricted movement, I feel like it happens more frequently.

Thanks for letting me vent...So stressful!

I had an SCH form at 8 weeks with my dd but it gradually was absorbed by 12 weeks just as ANOTHER SCH formed. The second one was gone by 20 weeks and I went on to have her in the wee morning hours of a beautiful September day at 37+3. She's now going on 2. So a diagnosis of SCH isnt' necessarily the end. Good luck!

I had a huge gush at 9 weeks 6 days an hour after a great ultrasound (the tech did not pick up on it, but a different tech saw the clot 6 days later). I went on bed rest. They told me that brown blood was a good sign because it is old blood. They also said it usually resolves itself.

Well, I guess I jinxed myself when I said I've only been occasionally spotting! Last night (11 weeks 2 days) I had another gush of bleeding. I hate this!! :( I keep telling myself that the baby is ok and I'm not cramping, so try to relax, but it's hard when I see what looks like I'm having a freaking period while pregnant!
