I recently found out I was pregnant after a stressful journey of TTC. This is my second pregnancy. My first pregnancy ended in miscarriage at almost 9 weeks.
I had a subchorionic hemorrhage with my first pregnancy also.
Sunday morning, I got up, made my bed, fed my dog, and went to the bathroom because I felt something extremely "wet". I sat down and immediately felt dripping and knew it wasn't good. I wiped and it was A LOT of bright red blood. My husband was home within 10 minutes and he immediately took me to the hospital (45 mins away).
There had to be 50 people in the emergency room. Some were laughing and seemed totally fine. Me, however, was bleeding through my clothes and passing golf ball size clots and they told me it was going to be a long wait. I ended up waiting 2 and a half hours before they finally called me back.
The doctor pretty much told me I was miscarrying but he was going to send me for an ultrasound, draw blood, and check my cervix just incase. He drew blood first
HCG - 28,000
Blood type & Titer - O+
He then checked my cervix and said it was closed but he did see some mucous at the opening of my cervix and his exact words were, "I don't like when I see that because usually when I see that, it is the products of conception". He said he was still going to send me for an ultrasound just incase.
At this point, I had pretty much accepted the fact that I miscarried. The ultrasound tech took forever and didn't say a word to me. What made it even worse was that the CNA tht took me back to my room kept talking to me about what I was going to do when the baby got here and yada yada. I was polite and answered her questions like nothing was wrong b/c in all reality, everything could still be okay.
The doctor came in and said, "Well, I guess you heard"....and of course I said No.
He then said "the baby is fine. It's measuring at 5 weeks 6 days and there was a heart rate of 123. You have a subchorionic hemorrhage and that's whats causing you to bleed".

My jaw had to hit the floor. I walked up beside the doctor and looked at the paper he was holding just to make sure he was talking to the right patient. And sure enough, he was!
I went to my doctor the next day for a follow up and he did an ultrasound himself. He said that the ER considered it tiny, but he didn't consider it tiny. He measured it as 3 cm by 1 cm. He looked at the ER report and they measured it the same so it didn't change in that short amount of time. We got to hear the heartbeat and it was 123 beats per minute again (same as ER) and he measured that the baby was 6 weeks 2 days (closer to what I thought I was).
My question now is, I'm having a lot of brown/black discharge and small clots. Some of it is mucousy. Is this normal and could it mean that it's resolving?
