I'm newly pregnant and have been having light cramping and spotting since 10DPO. Spotting is brown and only when I wipe, and cramping has been on and off every day.

I'm trying to relax, so I'd love to know if any of you had these same symptoms in very early pregnancy (4-5 weeks) then successfully made it to the 2nd tri with a healthy pregnancy.

Thanks!

I had horrendous spotting and cramps for weeks until I was 9 weeks PG (i didnt even know i was Pg as had taken tests and all come back negative - even blood test at the docs - went for a diagnostic scan to find out what the problem was, discovered I was 9 weeks PG, then a few days later symptoms came on with avengeance...) anyway, enough rambling, I am now fine and will be mother to a beautiful healthy baby boy in January and I even had a scary bleed at 16 weeks, I'm sure you will be fine.

Hi there :)

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

I had quite alot of cramping in the first 7-8 weeks of my pregnancy and I experienced spotting similar to that which you descibe at just under over 7 weeks and again at just over 9 weeks.

I'm still here in the 2nd and tri and certainly on my most recent scan bubba was bouncing around all over the place :-D

Have you spoken to your GP and/or midwife? I would still recommend that you do, if nothing else it will reassure you that everythings OK xxx

Hi, I had cramping for the first few weeks and I had 3 different bleeds too (bright red) and everything is fine now.
Congratulations and best of luck :)

I had blood drawn to check my HCG level yesterday and I'm still waiting on the results. I did tell the nurse about the cramping/spotting and she said not to worry unless the cramps get more severe or I see red blood.

Thanks!

Hope everything works out for you, best of luck

I had cramping and bright red bleeding heavy enough that I thought it was a period around week 4 (even wore and was filling tampons every few hours for the first two days) and then I found out 2 weeks later that I was 6 weeks pregnant (I tested because I had brown spotting that continued from what I had thought was a period). The spotting stopped for me around week 7 and I'm at 20 + 2 weeks now and everything looks great. I know my case was really unusual with such a heavy bleed, but I know many who have had light spotting like yours during the first trimester and gone on to have healthy pregnancies.

I have had spotting and sometimes bright red heavy bleeding on and off from week 4 up until 2 weeks ago. Fingers crossed i wont have any more!

Eventually a few weeks ago they had a look after me asking them to help me several times...and i was referred for a colposcopy which i had yesterday and i have a cervical ectropian which apparently just bleeds on and off and is set off by various things but nothing to do any harm to bubs. It still scares me a bit but its apparently all safe. I had some silver nitrate put over the ectropian yesterday and they are hoping it is now cauterised.

But just to let you know that bleeding and spotting doesnt always have a bad ending, it is just a very scary time and unfortuantely at the early stages doctors arent very helpful. I did get early scans though which put my mind at rest too.

Things that set my bleeding off in the past were stress, hoovering, long walks.x

I had brown spotting and 3 small lots of red blood at the beginning, then have had brown spotting ever since basically and everything is fine!

Good luck x x x
