My question is have there been any success stories from anyone using Clomid obtained by sources other than their doctor?
Before you call me stupid, hear me out. I live in Mexico and commute to work in the US everyday. I have medical insurance in the US per my employment and sought medical treatment for infertility in the US. Ive been TTC since Jan of last year and was just diagnosed with PCOS in Nov 2016. At that point my OBGYN said i would be the ideal candidate for metformin + clomid due to my type of PCOS and age. But because Kaiser is Kaiser, she had to refer me out to the fertility clinic/department of Kaiser and when I called to schedule an appointment, I was told I would have to pay a ridiculous amount of money for a screening and another per appointment after that because my insurance only covers 50% of fertility treatments. I went back to my OBGYN and explained that I couldnt afford the fertility clinic as of now, but asked if she could prescribe me the meds. She could only prescribe me the metformin to treat PCOS, but not Clomid since thats to treat infertility (which she cannot do in her department .i know crazy!)
So I am 13dpo today and Im feeling quite out and moody so maybe my emotions are getting the best of me. Theres a pharmacy right by my condo so i stopped by today on my way home and just inquired about clomid. (Its a reputable pharmacy, and Ive been obtained meds from there in the past with no problems!) The pharmacist explained to me that I do NOT need a prescription to obtain clomid in Mexico and the box of 30 pills of 50mg will cost me around $12USD. This may sound insane, but Im pretty convinced that if AF shows this month, I will go buy a box take on per day on CD 3-6 while continuing metformin and hope for the best. Im doing research online and I see ladies getting a ton of hate for even inquiring about stuff like this, but honestly does it really sound so insane?
Judgement aside, are there ANY ladies out there who have obtained clomid outside of their doctor/clinic (online, a country outside their own) and have had success, any advice for me?
Thanks in advance!!!!
