I need to write this down to express my feelings sorry.

Today i had the worst possible day at around 2pm i started bleeding quite heavy i got very emotional as to be expected and phoned my local EPAU and was advised that there is nothing they could do and told me that if i had soaked through 4 pads within 2 hours then to go see them and i will definately get seen.
2 hours passed and it seemed to be alot lighter but still fresh blood so i went to my local gynaecology ward where they did the usual checks urine sample etc. The doctor oncall came in to see me and i explained all she then said she was going to do an internal check as she wasnt able to do a scan. However when she spoke to the SHO on duty he advised that he is able to do a scan so anyway he came to see me and did the necessary checks for pain etc. He then did an internal where he seen my cervix is still closed. On the scan he was able to see baby and heartbeat which is such a relief as i thought i had m/c again.
I have had bleeding for over 2 weeks now but nothing like today its really worrying and i cant believe that baby surviving all of this sounds like i have a little fighter on board.
I was advised that if bleeding gets heavy again or get pains or generally just dont feel great to go back to the ward as they are treating it as a threatened miscarriage due to amount of bleeding.
Dont suppose anyone has any experience of this? I know many pregnant women experience bleeding throughout pregnancy but i just never thought to this extent.
Thanks for listening

Oh my golly, how horrible and scary! I'm thrilled for you that bubs is a-ok :hugs:
I don't have any answers (sorry!) other than when I was 13 weeks pregnant with Alex my cervix was being irritated by an antibiotic cream for bacterial vaginosis that I had to insert up into my vagina. The bright red blood scared the willies out of me, they did an ultrasound and there he was hooning around having a jolly time.
Unfortunately any other bleeding I have experienced has ended with the opposite ultrasound result - I'm sorry I can't offer any real help :hugs:

Hun, sorry, I can imagine how down you're feeling.

I bled from 5 weeks, sometime really heavily, I remember once being at work, standing up and this huge gush of blood coming out of me, soaking a pad and straight through my trousers, it was awful and really scary. I carried on bleeding on and off, sometimes heavy sometimes not right up to 18 weeks!

They discovered at my 13 week check that I was carrying twins, one of which I was miscarrying, the other which is perfect! I had I don't know how many scans at EPU prior to this and it was never picked up.

My consultant always said to me bleeding was really common in early pregnancy and doesn't always mean the worst.

My MIL bled every month like a normal period throughout both pregnancies.

I hope that gives you some reassurance hun that bleeding doesn't always mean the worst, of course get checked each time it happens, don't ever leave it and if anything worries you tell them, insist on scans etc if that helps.

Sending you :hugs: and hoping it's just a one off and all works out ok for you x
