Hi girls.

Most likely just being paranoid but is it possible that dramatic increase in fetal movement can be a sign of fetal distress? I was at the grocery store and a old guy ran his cart into me so I had a heavy thump on the hip, pubic bone and part of stomach. Kinda felt like I had an electric stream go through my crotch and hip bone.. very uncomfortable feeling. :nope: Soon after that happened bubs was so active... And then I mean SO active that I started to worry. Could the little one have been hurt? Stupid worries??

The baby is extremely protected inside of there. It wouldn't hurt him or her anymore than the impact would hurt an organ. The extra movement might have been because it ticked the baby off a bit! My baby moves around a lot more when the doctor is pushing around on me than if I am just doing my day.
You could call your doc office and let them know anyway, they will decide if you should come in and get checked out.

I work in a nursing home/skilled rehab center and I deal with patients with dementia and sometimes mental illness and I got kicked earlier on and told the doctor about it, and he said if it wasn't a very hard kick and it wasn't straight in the gut it should be fine since baby is so protected inside.. Hope your not worrying to much :/

I wouldnt run to ER for that. Like previous person said, baby is etremly protected. My midwife explained that when you move, the baby sleeps safe and sound. When you move suddenly or lay down to relax, that's when the baby wakes up. Id guess that the baby woke up suddenly and did some extra movements. I wouldnt worry but if you are, call your midwife for a chat!

If you're worried I would call the doc - can't do any harm getting checked but could not getting checked xxx sure all is ok but best to be safe hunny x

i dont think anything is wrong, if you feeling him then thats a good sign,, :) just woke him up a bit,,
i have days where i dont feel so much and some days were i feel a lot but that because my womb is sitting at the front the doctor said so it depends how he lies that i can feel him ,, :)

I'd say the baby just got a surprise, but they do say to ring the hospital if you notice dramatically more or less movement than usual, so I'd give them a ring, just in case. At least you'd be reassured!
