So I recently posted about my girlfriends itchy skin, nothing has worked piriton, oatmeal baths, stretch mark cream and calamine lotion. It's mainly around her collarbone and under her breasts.she unsure if its an allergic reaction but was just wondering if anyone has used sudocrem to soothe the itching??

I haven't personally, but sudocrem is like magic cream! Works for spots, burns, irritated skin the works!

this may sound stupid but have you tried a cold banana mashed up in a bowl and put on for about 20 minutes?

i know, i know.... it sounds like something im making up lol but my wee granny had me do it while back and the coolness took the itch away ( even left skin softer lol )

Dunno about sudocream, couldnt hurt to try tho!

Just bear in mind that Sudocrem is a bit of a nightmare to clean off, so if she does try it, just a very thin layer! If you smear it on thick and white it may make her skin worse when she tried to clean it off.

I use sudo cream for everything!! My daughter has lichen sclerosis which sometimes causes very severe itching and I use it for that. It is very thick and hard to clean off as another person has said but it is seriously like a miracle cream.

Thankyou for that ill get her to try a thin layer and see what happens

Sudocrem couldn't hurt to try. I know it's expensive but for itching/sore skin (insect bite and irritation under breasts from an ill fitting bra) I have used Burts Bees baby bee nappy rash ointment. It worked wonders for me and calmed the itching immediately and you only need a tiny amount of it.

Silcox base is another great cream you can get from your pharmacist, it's brilliant for sensitive skin and rashes.

I went through an itchy phase and the best cream I found was e45 itch relief. Keep it in the fridge too so when it's applied the coolness is really relieving.

You say she's tried calamine? Has she tried aqueous cream combined with calamine? I brought some in sainsburys. The aqueous cream stops the calamine drying the skin out, and of course, the calamine soothes the skin.

Totally random but I love the smell of calamine lotion, totally want to buy some now just for the smell

There's a cream called Eurax that you can buy over the counter specifically for itchy skin, it's the only thing that has ever worked for me when I get heat rash.

Has she been to the doctor about it? What do they suggest?

Does she actually have a rash? The itching might be internal.

Get her to try liver support teas like dandelion root, milk thistle and hot water and lemon.

I think these teas are safe during pregnancy but check.

There is a dull rash but sometimes it's there and then the next minute it's not. It flares up mainly when she's in bed especially on the side she is lying on at the time. We haven't changed our washing powder or anything. Doctors did a blood test Friday morning and said if its urgent they'd ring us back that afternoon, we rang Saturday morning but they were closed so I'm hoping it isn't anything serious.

The doctor suggested piriton but it hasn't worked at all apart from making her drowsy I don't think the doctor even understood how uncomfortable she's been for the past 5 days

Oh sudocrem started to burn and irritate the skin so she washed it off and has had another oatmeal bath, I think she just wants to leave her skin at the moment and let it have a break from all the creams she's tried, she's not a happy bunny

Sorry also flares up if the water is too warm in the shower

I had the same in early pregnancy and sudocream was AMAZING for it :)
