Yeah, I haven't decided if I like it or not. I am always looking for names to have the nn Liv with and this was a new one I heard. Otherwise the only ones I know are Olivia, Livia, Liviana, etc.
Same as a couple of the others - love Liv but never heard of it as abbreviated from Sullivan (but I don't see why it couldn't be). I would probably think of Sullivan as a boys name initially but it does have potential to be both.
ETA I love Rose as a middle name, and we will be using it if we ever have a girl!
Liv is cute on its own but I worry about Rose as a middle name.. Liv R. - reminds me of Liver, lol. Am I overthinking it or do you see it too? Even when it is said "Liv R...." seems like I am saying Liver.
I wouldn't have thought of that - you probably wouldn't use a nickname followed by a middle initial very often, if you love the name I wouldn't worry about it x
I like Sullivan, i think it's cute.... but prefer the suggestion someone made of "Alivia"... it's more feminine. I also think Olive is really nice & different!
Personally when i read the title i thought this was for a boy. And my 1st thought was it sounds more like a last name. I can't really see liv flowing from Sullivan to be honest. I don't really like it x
I found another Liv variation... Livana. I think it is pretty. It means "moon" in Hebrew or "goddess" in Greek. and Liv is an obvious nickname. I do think Liv is ok on its own but just prefer a longer name if the baby grows up and wished for something more formal. And Livana Rose doesn't make me think of Liver. lol. Thoughts?
This is popping back up on my radar again. Any new opinions/ideas? I truly love Liv but feel it needs a formal name. I know someone with an Olivia and an Olive so I feel that they are both ruled out. I did love Livia and still do but wonder if it just sounds too much like a chopped off version of Olivia. Can anyone think of any other names? Our other girl choices are Lola and Willow.
