Today I forgot suncream for my 3 month old baby(I kept her in the shade, but it was 'just in case') so I used the one I have for my 3year old daughter(soltan kids). Then I read the back and it says from 18months!?!?!
Does anyone know why? Is there any serious reasons? Or will she be ok? She hasn't reacted or anything, but I didn't know if there was any other reason?
I feel so stupid!

Recommendations here are to not even use sunscreen for under 6 months, and then after that use baby sunscreen. I think the idea is the chemicals in sunscreen are more harmful than the sun itself at that age so you're just supposed to avoid the sun completely. We use a UV- blocking net over the stroller when we go for walks. Not sure what the recommendations are there but I'd definitely pick up a baby sunscreen for next time. I'm not sure of specific differences with kid or baby sunscreens but I assume baby sunscreen is just more gentle with safer chemicals maybe? Not sure.

Having said that, I would not worry or fret about using the kids' sunscreen one time on her. I am guessing the chemicals just aren't very good for them at that age, but it would probably be with use over time. I wouldn't stress about just using it once. :) I'm sure she is completely fine!

Same as previous poster said. Recommendations are not to use sunscreen for babies 6 months and under. I think she'll be okay. :)

We live in Sinapore where you can't avoid the sun all day everyday! I spoke to a UK pharmacist about this, he recommended using baby sunscreen when sun unavoidable under 6 months old and then baby sunscreen until 18 months. The reason is purely down to the skin on young babies being very soft and easily irritated (not down to any long term chemical damage!!) and there is barely anything which can irritate in baby sunscreen but there are slightly harsher ingredients in older children's sunscreen. If you're little one didn't have any reaction at the time to the sunscreen then there's absolutely no issue, but use baby one in the future to protect :-)
