Sure Start Maternity Grant- help please :)

Hello all!

This is my first post.. im in my 29th week of pregnancy now and have been looking into the £500 grant. You can apply 11 weeks before your baby is due so obviously I can apply now.. but was wondering- because I dont receive any benefits at the moments (tax credits etc) but should get them once my baby is born- will I be able to apply for it now or do I have to wait till I am receiving benefits?

Im also a full time student at uni.. will this hinder me getting any type of benefits or grants? Im on maternity leave now but usually work around 17 hours a week.

I think you will have to wait until your babys born but im not 100% sure

hey i would just give them a call and ask as it does depend on your income,
