Sooo...late Sunday night/early Monday morning, I was shocked to find out that what I thought was just a terrible stomach ache was actually appendicitis! I have never had a surgery, never had any medical problems, and so the whole thing was basically terrifying to me. I kept asking the doctors if my symptoms could have anything to do with me trying to get pregnant and being off birth control and so of course they did a couple of pregnancy tests (one at Urgent Care and one at the ER). I told both doctors that it wouldn't show up on a urine test yet, because at most I would only be 3-4 days post ovulation. Neither seemed to listen. They threw around the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy, but finally landed on appendicitis (after a bunch of really painful tests).

So, I was completely terrified to be put under and have surgery. I managed to try to ask both the doctor and surgeon what impact this could have if I actually were pregnant, but neither really seemed to care and neither really took the question seriously. They did the surgery laproscopically, so they didn't actually open my stomach and dig around in there, just minor incisions.

had the surgery the night of 3DPO and had pain meds through IV twice on 4DPO. Since then, I'm just taking Ibuprofen, per doctor's prescription. I know that all of this would be happening pre-implantation, if I were pregnant, and so that is a good thing. This is our first month trying and so the chances I even am pregnant are slim, but it just seems like such an awful thing to happen while TTC and not a good start to this journey.

Any thoughts are appreciated...
