Just wondering and possibly for future reference, who's surname are you single mummys using for your LO's yours or your ex's!?!?!

His - mainly because Caitlin has his surname & I don't wish to divide the kiddies up like that.

Also I took many things into consideration when pregnant about names & although together not single I had to consider if that was ever to happen and life moves on naturally what if I met someone else married had another child & Caitlin had my name on her birth certificate although yer she could use my married name her birth certificate would never be the same as mine or her Daddys ...Hope that makes sense lol Although as I say we were together on out 1st so in order to feel bonded to my Caitlin I changed my name by deed poll.

I guess a bigger factor in a decision like this is how much the Daddy is going to be involved etc

Yea i can completely see your point ive always wondered about over peoples view if me and my child had different surnames but i guess most people dont care as much these days!!

But mostly because it would be unfair since he will be involved in her life,physically and financially.It all depends on it...

Bubs will definitely be having mine, mainly because I doubt that Daddy will have the balls to actually come to register the birth with me, as our child is such a big secret and none of his family know about it. I say, whatever....

Mine. The sperm doner has made it scarily clear he wants nothing to do with my baby and I have recieved no contact from him since 2months. I dont see any reason to confuse my child by giving him/her a name that will mean nothing to them.

But obviously it's different strokes. I think the amount of involvement the father will have plays a big part in decisions such as these. Hope it works out! x

Mollie, my eldest has my surname. Her dad took no part in my pregnancy when i was 17 and when she was born he came to see me and he tried hittin on my sis.
The 2nd time and final time he saw her, my friend was there with her baby and he said aww she is gorgeous i said that 1 there is ur daughter!!!!!!!
And he has a tattoo of her name on his arm done and he spelt her name wrong he spelt it Molly

My second Taylor has her Daddys surname (diff bloke) and this one will too.
