Swab causing pain?

Hi. I had a midwife appointment today and mentioned I felt I comfortable down below, like swollen and sore and also my old episiotomy scar stings. Well she took a swab incase of infection and since then ive had really bad period pains and lower back pains. The swab was only inserted a small way so anyone know why I would be experiencing this pain? Thank you x

Sorry I don't know why you would be feeling these pains maybe mention them to your midwife but I just wanted to say that I am also feeling swollen down below and my episiotomy scar is also feeling sore - I figured it was just a pregnancy related thing

She did say that swelling is normal and to rub baby oil on scar if it's sore x
