Sweets & treats for lo

He had a little taste here and there around that age. He didn't have much till atleast a year old. He's 19 months now and can hear you opening a candy bar wrapper from across the house.... I try not to give into him, but I'm pregnant and eat sweets a lot so I have to wait till he's in bed, or share some with him. My grandmother gives him LOADS of chocolate...the first thing he does when he walks in is walk to the M&M jar and refuses to leave until he gets 3 or 4 pieces. but I have been hiding all the candy and not eating it at all lately. He does get a small pack of fruit snacks a day that he literally dances for until you open it.

I used M&Ms for potty training, and now wish I hadn't lol! Even though he's finally potty trained, he still thinks he needs to get M&Ms every time he goes.

Logan's had lots of 'tries' of treat food when we have it (chocolate, ice cream, donuts, sweets, cake, milkshakes) and at least once a day will have a biscuit for a snack.

I dont like him to have chocolate often, if we have chocolate then Logan is allowed 2 chocolate buttons (although OH always gives him 3 or 4!)
OH has also given him a taste of Dr Pepper which i wasnt happy about.

I have this whole idea that my little angel will only get sweets/chocolate etc on rare occations as a treat, however I look at her cousins and know this will never work, they will gorge themselves on "crap" constantly when they are at nannys! I found it very hard to bite my tongue over the weekend when I caught my SIL giving my little angel the buttercream out of my birthday cake to try at the weekend, she only had her first "solid" food 2 days before that and even at this early stage I'm afraid on my LO developing a sweet tooth!
I guess what I'm saying is that for most parents we have this idea that we will bring our LO's up to only want whats good for them and very rarely have junk foods, however this is rarely the case as they often get spoild by friends/relitives who think they're being kind by giving them chocolate. Oh well.

Lo has had tiny bites of things, a little bit of biscuit, he had a rusk at a friends house, then I bought him the lower sugar ones (which are still really high!) And he's not bothered. Doesn't seem to like sweet stuff yet but then that's pretty much it. I'm trying to convince him Greek yoghurt is the best treat ever!

Neither grandmum are the type to sneak him chocolate though one gave him mini chedders and a dorito, but I wasn't bothered, he was a very happy baby that day!
