I've never had swelling problems(feet, hands etc) in the summer..not even when I was pregnant with my first 2 kids...Well 2 days ago I started noticing my feet swollen around my ankles...I am concerned because I am not even outside on the heat,I am in my airconditioned apartment all day and also-few weeks back it was 40+ celsius and there was not swelling at all...Now I am thinking that maube I have preclampsia...Last check up my blood pressure was still normal...but I do have elevated pressure when not pregnant...I am 25 weeks today...Do you think this is normal even though I am not outside ot standing on my feet or should I be worry???I do see dr in 2 days...Anyone in the same condition with swollen feet???

From what I understand swelling is only a preeclempsia symtom if it is in your hands or face. Swollen feet is just a normal pregnancy symptom. Heat can make the foot/ankle swelling worse, but you can get swelling without heat as well. Since you say your BP is fine, it is probably just normal pregnancy swelling. But if you are concerned you can always ask your Dr. at your appt this week. Good luck!

My face is not swollen...but fingers on my hands are slightly swollen but they are always like that in summer...

i have had preeclampsia before and i only swelled in my feet ankles and calves, so its not only related to hands and face, its pretty much water retention anywhere in your body, another symptom is headaches, from mild to severe, and back pain, lightheadedness, dizziness, and blurred vision. my normal bp is 90/60, so anytime my bp get to 120/70 i have to call the doctor because even though that is normal for some women its considered high for me.

Swelling is pretty common in pregnancy. In my first, it didn't happen until the very end. But in this pregnancy, it started a few weeks ago and i don't have to do anything for sweeling to start, although it's much worse when i'm on my feet for a prolonged amount of time.

Mention it to your doctor anyway and they'll keep an eye on everything :)

i remeber with my son, 10 weeks before delivery i got the pregnancy swollen legs and feet... and elevated them and soaked them in a cold water bucket.. that really seemed to help. If it looks any worse than normal then be best to get it checked hun xxx
