Swine Flu Vaccination

I asked my midwife if I could have it and she told me it's up to me, BUT her advice is to wait until after 14 weeks.
She said you won't find that in any literature, but that is what she tells her ladies.
I definately want it, but I will wait until 14 weeks.

Hi there.
Because of premature daughter I am a bit of a vaccination freak
She has to have seasonal/swine flu vaccine, so whole family gets them too. I had seasonal at 12wks and swine flu at 15. I'm now 33wks preggo with healthy twin boys.
My consultant was very anxious for me to get it. She explained that the majority of patients on ECMO (intensive care treatment for swine flu) were pregnant ladies in their last trimester, or who had recently given birth. THough still a rare reaction to the virus, I personally wouldn't risk not having the vaccine

Good question, I am in the same position, received a letter from GP yesterday and not sure what to do, I'm 11 weeks today and a teacher so exposed to germs all the time. However, I am still apprehensive and so welcome anyone elses advice?

hi ... i dont feel there is enough literture on this at mins too many unanswered questions i.e the effects on baby so am going to refuse the vacation my feelin is a few months ago we had a really bad episode where nearly every other person we knew got it and we didnt (maybe tempin fate) but if there was a bad outbreak again the hosiptals doctors would again offer it to the olderly / pregnant / young ... i just feel dont know enough bout the vacantion to risk it

i refused manly because u dont hear about it much now and if it got worse again then i would but i aint putting nought in my body unless i really have too.
