I need advice on switching..I tried switching from formula to whole milk and noticed my son got the runs and diaper rash. he is 13 months old today. I did try to gradually introduce it then I just flat out gave it cus I was told it would be easier. he could be teething tho, and be a pure coincidence.

Is the runs, loose stools and rash normal?
If I put him back on formula then gradually add whole milk and decrease the formula better way to go?

Anybody have any experience?

im far away from switching nicole over but when i switched over my son i too had the runny nappies and rash too. i used to make up bottles or zippy cups with half cows milk and half warm water and then slowly reduced the water. worked a treat for my son.

The rash maybe is becasue he has loose stools etc which makes his bum sore. I'm about to emabark on the same transition, she has milk in her cereal for breakfast so I know she is okay with it - did he have any in food before he went straight to a drink? Maybe thats worth a try first? :flower:

A sudden switch to cows milk does cause the runs, and the runs cause nappy rash.

We're currently in the process of switching. We're doing the gradual switch and there has been no affect on his bum yet. I'd suggest going back to the formula and switching an ounce at a time.
