Oh, goodness.. we're getting to that age.
As much as I wish to ignore it, I have to start being realistic and know that he will have to be swapped. So, I want to go ahead and prepare myself.
So... a few questions:

1. How did you swap them? Just full on, no more formula period-complete swap. Or gradually? If gradually.. did you do like one bottle a day cow milk, then move to two bottles, etc.. and keep the rest formula; or did you do like every bottle with so many ounces of cows milk?!
2. What age did you swap them? I'm thinking I'm going to keep Colton on some formula until just alittle after 11mo. I get WIC, so I get 10 more can at the beginning of February, which will run out about Feb. 20; I'm thinking about swapping him then (11mo 1wk) but dont know if I should since I'm kinda just not wanting to buy any more formula. Beginning March 1st he gets cow milk on his WIC (turns 1 March 13).

Any other things you think I might need to know just feel free to post.. :D

I wish I could help you, but I don't even want to start thinking about cow's milk ! Good luck xx

i think they are not supposed to have cows milk before a year, most ppl switch gradually by adding more milk each time to formula

hi i was told by a health nurse to start giving my son 5omls cows milk in a sippy cup then the rest formula was told tht when my son was 8 months.and tht he will be on full cows milk by 12 months.my son is now 9 months.

I have just started using cows milk in Hannahs breakfast cereal but dont really plan on switching her bottles over until she passed the one year mark. When the time does come though I'm likely to introduce it one bottle at a time with the nighttime bottle being the last one to move over.

I've been making the transition, already
He's taken to it well so far. He gets 4oz milk, 4oz formula in his bottles (3 bottles/day).

Although we are only half way there, his diapers are already STINKY! :dohh: I'm dreading being full cows milk! *PUKE*

I did 2oz for a week, 4oz for a week; will be doing 6oz for a week, and then he will finally be on full cows milk about 3-4 days before he is one year. :)

With all of my first three I changed them onto cows milk gradually from 9 months to 10 months I used cows milk to make the breakfast up and then gradualy increased it to the milk they drank with it.

By 10-11 months they have all been on cows milk and have coped fine with it all xxx

I've moved him up to 6oz milk, 2oz formula this morning. He seems good, although keeps acting like he is going to be sick. IDK why, I wouldn't think its the milk because he has been fine on it; maybe it's cause I just got him dressed and he wants to ruin his outfit :dohh: lol

I started max at 7 months with 50/50 bottles for about 2 weeks ..then switched him over full on and he was fine

When you switched him over did he seem like he wanted more? Today Colton has just acted like it wasn't enough milk, even after 8oz he was crying for more. I'm wondering if cows milk just doesn't fill them up as much? I'm thinking about just going ahead to all cows milk and giving it to him in a sippy, since his sippys are bigger (10 or 12oz, cannot remember).
