Hello all got my results back today and i am 1:63 downs and 1:120 Edwards sydrome. Also my bhcg levels were low .40. Anyone else had low hcg at 13 weeks (when test was done) my head is a mess. Opted for 18 week scan by a specialist. Do not want amno. Any advice?

I mean t13 t18 t21 testing

I never even got my actual numbers back. They just said everything was normal. Good luck!

My hCGb level was 2.62, which I was told was high but no-one ever explained what it meant.. :-/ which is not very helpful I know! I'd honestly give your midwife a call and ask if she could help explain it all and what it may or may not mean. Hope everything is OK!

Do you mean that the MoM was 0.4 as that is not that low... it is how the levels of PAPP A and f-HCG MoM levels compare with each other, not absolute values.

There are other blood tests available privately which look at free circulating DNA from the baby and look at the chromosomes that way, although it is expensive at £500ish

Plus the risk for Edwards/Patau would be combined, they aren't able to separate the 18/13 risks. Only Downs T21 is given by itself.

I've had a cell free DNA test and recommend it. I had the harmony test but there are others available. They are very accurate but the only way to know for sure is an amino/cvs. I think I would wait and see what the specialist says. Hope all is ok.

When I was pregnant with daughter, I had risk ratio of 1:17 for trisomy 21 and 1:11 for trisomy 13 and 18. I didn't want the risk associated with amnio , so I had the MaterniT21 test and it came back with 'typical chromosomes' and the results were correct. I think it's something like 99% accurate for typical chromosomes and 96% if you get non typical, in which case they recommend an amnio to confirm. It's one of the free cell DNA tests. The others are the harmony and the panorama. I'd check to see if any of those are available to you. Best of luck

I had similar results for t21 tests with my first and was worried sick. I too didn't gave the amino and I now gave a lively talkative 5 year old.

We discussed what we would do this time around if it was the same and found the harmony test in Manchester for £340. Thankfully I don't need it but would have had it done for sure.

I hope everything's ok and really do try not to worry too much though from experience I know it's much easier said than done xx

I have no idea what my hcg levels were at 13 weeks...I don't think they checked.

Ask for a maternity21 or panorama test. It's a simple bloodtest.

How was your NT scan? Did you get a number for that?

Hey Spencer. I don't know what my hcg levels were at week 13 but I do know in the beginning mine were very low. I don't think there is correlation between that and DS though?? I also just had my 20 week scan (I was 19 weeks) and there were two "soft" markers for DS and possibly more that they couldn't be sure of due to the position. I go in on Friday for another scan. Depending on that I may or may not be referred to a specialist and like others have suggested I will be requesting a blood test either way. It's very stressful for sure and while I am mostly worried about associated birth defects I would also like to be able to prepare for DS ahead of time. I don't have much advice, I just feel like I can relate to your post and wanted to give some support.

Thank you for your replies. I have decided i can not change the result and will exept what is! I will love my baby no matter what. Thank you for all your replies. I have a special scan at 18 weeks and then we will know more but for now i will enjoy every moment ❤
