Taking a 14 month old on holiday

Hi all,

We're going to Spain in June and have been writing a checklist (god, how much do babies need on holiday? lol). Just wondering if you can think of anything we can't possibly leave without? or give me any tips/things you'd think of when going abroad with a little one. We're going to my boyfriends parents apartment, so we know everything is fine with that.

Ty :)

Blimey theres a check list going to Nans for the night! Its a nightmare :rofl:

No tips though sorry :D Jealous :lol:

My parents used to live in Spain, and there was a company there that rented stuff out to holidaymakers. Things like travel cots, decent pushchairs, highchairs, that sort of thing. Does your friend know if there's anything in the area???

Short of that, I don't really know. Stuff like nappies you'll be able to buy when you're there. And at 14 months, you won't need formula - just cows milk, so that can be bought there. Swim nappies? Sun block of course. Usual medicine cupboard full of stuff! Small toys or books. Favorite teddy/blankie.

This is the reason we're going for a week in a caravan in Cleethorpes for our holiday this year!!!!:rofl:

Have you thought of one of those UV protector tents. They're lind of like the samsonite baby pop up ones but obviously for older children. Just as it will be fairly hot in spain at that time of year. I know we are going to get a samsonite baby one for when we take Olivia to Majorca in May.

Something like this so you wouldnt have to sit indoors with her when the sun is at its peak

We have also bought Olivia some Sun Glasses from pumpkin patch that are slightly like goggles in the way they go around there head, just to protect her eyes... Also i'd consider a UV swim suit.

Might not be your type of things but just a suggestion

I love my Samsonite pop-up :) Babybean, look on ebay for one. They're £34.99 in Boots and Mothercare, etc, but I got mine brand new from ebay for £24.99. There were some cheaper used too.

Tilly, I've bookmarked these websites for when we take Ryan on holiday in May;

lol, I know what you mean. When Bethanie was younger we used to take LOADS up to my mums, the boot and back seat used to be full of stuff literally. It's ok now shes older, but going away is going to be fun!:dohh:

Amanda, it's my boyfriends parents apartment so we know there is a travel cot and everything else we need there which is handy. We're buying a new lightweight pushchair before we go and renting a car seat with the hire car so thats all fine.

Babybean, I like the look of that tent. Will look into that, thanks.

@Lauren - Thanks, those links are really helpful.. especially the 2nd one.:happydance:
