Taking a break from Clomid - small follicles?

I didn't get follicle tracking on clomid. All I know is that I had low progesterone on my 3rd and 4th round of Clomid (all four rounds were 50mg... got a temp shift and positive OPK and started a period on my own - things that were not happening before the Clomid so it seems like I was ovulating).
My levels on 3rd round of Clomid were 6.5 (US levels want a 10 for natural cycle and 15 for medically stimulated cycle.. though a 5 or above does seem to indicate ovulation). My levels on my 4th round were 8.8

Now I'm on a break from the clomid for a couple of months. I finally got the ultrasound 2 days ago (CD13) and now, at CD15, I got a positive OPK. I just heard back that all the ultrasound showed was 2 follicles... 1.5 and 1.7cm ... they're supposed to be an 18! :(
My doctor thinks this is just a rebound from being off the clomid... but I can't find any data to support that. And then with my low progesterone on the clomid it seems like I might have had smaller follicles with Clomid than I should have.

I feel like I have wasted all these months, that I never had a chance and that I've been going through this hell for no reason.

Can anyone explain to me why my follicles are so small on the first cycle after a few rounds of clomid? why would I get the positive OPK but have no good follicles to release?
Very devastated here....:cry::cry::cry: :nope:

ok.. I think I'm an idiot.. 1.5CM is too big... so it seems like I have actual cysts... no follicles...

ok ... I'm even more of an idiot, lol :blush:... 1.5cm and 1.7cm equal 15mm and 17mm... very close to normal for ovulation..:dohh:

:) This stuff is confusing as all get out isn't it!!!!! I swear sometimes the Drs ramble so much information off that I can't get track of it all. Glad to hear that your follies were normal sized, and best of luck during your break.
