Taking away bottle cold turkey?

I ended up giving him his bottles back. I feel so guilty! I am going to start the transition to cows milk today, by adding gradually with formula... Wish me luck!

Good luck don't feel bad! For some that's the way to do it (DS had no issues with cold turkey) others need it more gradual,

Fingers crossed this way works !

When I was wanting to get my son off of formula at first I added more water and less formula to his bottle so he could get used to drinking more water. When he was 11 months periodically I would give him a small amount of milk in a regular cup (I would hold it for him) just so he could experiment with the flavor. My son also didn't like sippy cups with the soft spout so I bought a few hard spout ones that were not spill proof (that way he would figure out that drinks would come out of it ) also when giving him water I would put a tiny amt of juice (apple or grape) to give it a better flavor then gradually removed it so he will drink just water. When it came to only giving my son milk I had an issue because he didn't want milk unless it was in a bottle. So i mentioned this to his Dr and she said to offer the milk in a sippy cup with every meal and put one drop of chocolate syrup in it. It worked like a charm and within 2 wks I stopped putting chocolate syrup in it and he drinks the milk fine. He will only drink out of hard spout sippys though.
