so I was given some Prenatal Vitamins and I was wondering a few things...

I'm VERY tiny... 5'2"-3" and 105 lbs, I'm tiny framed as well. I'm 5 lbs of my target weight of 110. Vitamins, if they are not meant for kids make me feel awful! the Vitamins i was given are HUGE Horse pills!

Can I cut them in half to reduce my distress?

also should I take them with or with out food and with water or milk?

My old dr. told me if I were going to be taking any Vitamins that were in solid form, I should cut them in half to get rid of the nausea and days of no bowl movements.

I'm waiting for my new dr. appt next month so I can be referred to the ob/gyn 50 miles from me (my old dr. has moved practice and is not taking my brand of healthcare.)

Any info will will be very helpful. Thanks.

Were you "given" them by a Dr.? If so, I would call and talk to that Dr. and ask. But I don't see why you couldn't cut them in half. And definitely take them with food so that they have something to mix with in your stomach. Sometimes taking them on an empty stomach can make you feel worse. If those don't work for you go to the drugstore and try something different, they even make gummy kinds that are easier on your stomach. I'm taking Rainbow Light and it seems to be going well so far. It is a huge horsepill, and I was scared at first, but I haven't had any issues when taking it with dinner.

Pills that aren't scored shouldn't be broken. That's means they aren't meant to be broken. This probably goes for vitamins too.

Are gummies out of the question?

I have to take gummies as the pill forms make me nauseous.

I called my care provider when i got them but he was unavailable... I live in a very small town in Arizona and we have only 2 dr. offices. with the new health care reform I had to get the state insurance witch is sketchy at best. I did speak with one of the nurses and she told me she knows that they can be harsh so cutting it shouldn't hurt.

But I asked you all because she didn't give me a real answer and i wanted to see if any of you have done this and what not

oh and they came in a TTC care package that my coworker/neighbor gave me. her husband owns an online health store. https://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/aa327/furry_bandicoot/GEDC1135_zps753331e2.jpg

LOL well I feel dumb... there is a "2nd label" under the outer one...

"if supplement is hard to swallow or causes discomfort try the following:
divide supplement in half and take with food or juice.
Supplement may be crushed or powdered into fresh fruit juices or made into Smoothies.
Visit our website for delicious recipes."

Then it goes on to list bad side effects that recommend you see your Dr. immediately for. *face desk*
