Hi, my HCG at week 5 was 8,900 ... but then 48 hours later they were only 10,500

This has clearly screwed me right up, but some googling around (which can be dangerous i know) seems to suggest that once your levels hit 9,000 they slow down and dont double every 48hr anymore.... even levelling out...

thoughts? Anyone know anything?

I know 8,900 is high for 5w... but such a low rise after that made them worry about ectopic (it isnt) and now i'm worried i'll MC... i have another scan in 7 - 10 days to see if there is a HB, but in the mean time i'm going crazy..

any insight would be great... :)

Not sure I'm sorry - I have heard it said that at a certain level it stops doubling though - good levels too :)

I've heard that levels stop doubling at a certain point, too, but I don't have any firsthand experience. I refused hcg levels early on because I knew I'd freak out. I hope your ultrasound goes well

Hi,

I had levels of 12,504 at just over 5 weeks, and then 2 days later they were 18,400.. like you I was worried sick, and had to wait 2 weeks for my scan, but I'm happy to say we saw a heartbeat and after 2 mmc I was over the moon I burst out crying..

I'm sure everything is ok, good luck with your scan

got scan booked Friday AM.. they wanted me to wait 14 DAYS!!!! but i told them they'd find me at the bottom of the river, and that the Doc had said 7-10 days.. so there was no chance in hell i was waiting 14..

they said i still may not see much, but they did admit if all was well i'd see more that 8 days before... and that if i had to have another scan after that then so be it!

jeez.. just feels like they are trying to save themselves money every inch of the way, never mind that i've paid tax and insurance my whole working life and have never claimed anything!!!

The weight of this on my mind is horrific. :(

Tuesday today, three days to go to some kind of answer, or at least a better indication... :)

Praying for you and bub sweet. glad there is no more bleeding though
