HI everyone,
I just had a question?

Do you thinks it safe/ok to check if there is a still CM or implantation spotting after ovulation with a Tampon ....?

I read online somewhere awhile back, if you still have CM around 6-12 day post O. you might be pregnant, and if you have implantation spotting in that time frame you might be pregnant...So it goes on to say that a good way to check is buy inserting (and pull right out) a light tampon in the morning (on days 6-12) to increases the chances of seeing CM(quantity)and Implantation...

So i tried it this cycle as i notice i was still having CM 5 dpo (it has decreased but definitely still around.)(CM never left with Previous pregnancies for me)
My results:
6 dpo CM
7 dpo CM w/ light pink
8 dpo CM w/ brown and light pink tinge
9 dpo CM spotting gone
(I will Stop testing since results were achieved.)

Is this Implantation Spotting?
( When wiping it was always clear, and had i not inserted a tampon i would had never seen the spotting)

I am on CD 25, 9 dpo, i guess 2 days post Implant. Spot.if thats what it was (5 days post Impant. is suppose to be able to give a BFP if conception occurred)
Fxd 3 more days before i can test

I want to know if anyone thinks this is safe, or has tried this, or might try it and wants to post their own findings...

Thanks! BABY DUST

Poppymist- post and let us know after you test, fxd!!

its not something i would do hun but everyone is different xx

This was the first time I tried it and I only tried it cause I used the clear blue fertility monitor and beded like crazy, I'm positive I o'd and was still having CM (which is usually gone by now) so I just figured it probably cleaner/ less painfully than a acrylic nail up there.. ( Which I would never do).. Idk that's Why I really want peoples opinion?
Thanks & BabyDust!!!

Im at 12 dpo today and had a tinge of pink this morning. I though it was AF so I put a tampon in for an hour or so and then took it back out. There was a tiny spot of brown. So now im wondering if it was implantation bleeding. I have had implantation bleeding before. So the researcher that I am ... I went right to google and found that implantation bleeding occurs right at the tail end of implantation. I though that was intresting. Good luck on your BFP. Hope this is your month.

Ive never tried this but i would think it would not be safe to be wearing a tampon when you arent bleeding cause of the risk of toxic shock syndrome

I agree, along with how rough tampons can be in the vagina especially if you not on your AF

yeh could be painful? xx

I think that if it were a light/skinny tampon, and you only put it up there for a few seconds, it probably wouldn't hurt, but leaving it in probably isn't a good idea...Do you think it would be too late to check or to early at 5DPO? I've never had or notice IB before with my first two pregnancies...when I tried to check my CP, it seemed high and soft and like there was CM around it...I thought I was getting a yeast infection, but now I'm not so sure...my last two pregnancies I got yeast infections...tmi I know, but I might try it and see, but would it show implantation at 5 DPO? or should I wait two days?

Couldn't you just use your finger to check? I have quit using tampons altogether after 12 years of having periods because of the chemicals they use to bleach them with. I feel better already after one cycle of switching.... I wouldn't do it.

UPDATE* I spoke with my OB today to schedule an appoint for a HCG test next week, and I asked him about the Tampon Test, He said it was OK ! you only insert and remove the tampon so its only in there for a second, in the am and if your having CM its not painful and wont cause any harm....(I wouldn't try it without CM).

whitbit22- Im wearing acrylic nails and I will not check when i have them on (acrylic nails have loads of bacteria can cause infection). the tampon also pick up the small amounts of spotting left on the vaginal wall.thanx:hugs:

alynn6758-I was told that its rare but some people had IB at 5dpo, but your right at the perfect time, to give it a try if your comfortable with it.
i read the 1/3 or women have IB and the rest either dont have it or its so minimal they miss it. Sorry im no help with yeast infections (and there's never tmi), Good Luck and let us know your results!:hugs:

leann27,sammy, ruskiegirl-I would only do with CM, so there is no pain, and DR. said it will not cause toxic shock syndrome, thanx.:hugs:

charliesmom-thanks, definitely sounds like it could still be implantation bleeding. try wearing a panty liner, if it was implantation bleeding an hour might be to long, good luck to you and let us know your results! I hope its your BFP! :hugs:

opticalillus5- thanx :hugs:

Well thats an idea then i guess if the doc says its ok then your all good i may have to try this now

RUSKIE- Let us know if you do, we all would really like more opinions and results..Good Luck!:hugs:

Good luck to you! :D

I'm 3 days post Implantation bleeding, (I'm almost sure the spotting was IB ) As today I'm feeling exhausted...I really feel like this worked, 2 more days til testing!!! Fx'D

I'm anxious-nervous-and growing impatient!!! lol but my 2ww is almost over!
