Tampons and endometriosis

Is it true that wearing tampons cause endometriosis? I've read it does, and I've read it doesn't. I have read the true cause of endometriosis is unknown. Any responses are greatly appreciated.

I was diagnosed with endo back in 2011 but have apparently had it 10 years now..

None of my gynos have ever said anything about tampons causing endo.. that just doesn't seem to make sense

Doesn't make sense either. I can't remember where but I do remember reading that a tampon causes backflow which causes endo. Of course I trust real life experiences over what the internet says.
