My partner and I receive working tax/child tax credits currently on the basis that she is on maternity leave/pay. I don't see the incentive for me to return to work as I will have to re-pay any monies paid out to us!! Is it me or is this a dis-incentive for people to find work??? I could sit home & enjoy the summer with my new family, however I am looking for a job frantically.
Anyone in similar position???

I suppose you're right, I'd never thought of it like that before! We get loads more tax credits this year as I'm on mat leave, and we'd also be a bit better off if I stayed at home. But, like you, I'm returning to work. Although we will be much worse off financially next year because both the LO's will be in nursery, it's a long term plan as we'll be better off once they're at school.

Good luck with finding a job, although I can totally understand why you would want to stay at home.:hugs:
