We currently don't qualify for tax credits, but once I'm on maternity do I call them to say I'm now on maternity because then only the first £100 per week of maternity counts?

Or have I got to wait until the folllowing April when it is based on my previous years earnings?

I got tax credits when I went on maternity leave with DD1 just remember it being a pain to sort out initially. You need to wait until baby has been born otherwise they can't do anything

They disregard the first £100.00.

Maybe give them a quick call and see things might have changed as I wasn't working when DD2 arrived x
