Ok, who all uses TCM and what can you tell me about it? I've been reading up on it and my interest is peaked.

Are your practitioners actually Chinese, and if I go this route, should I trust someone who is NOT Chinese?

hi shelley
i haven't used it for TTC, but i have used chinese medicine and other alternative therapies for many other things and they do have a very good effect on me.
i've had chinese and not chinese practitioners and they were both good. i guess that for the chinese ones maybe it is more 'intuitive'? i mean, it is more embeded in their culture, if that makes any sense?

good luck!! :flower:

Hi Shelley71
I'm using TCM and my practioner isn't Chinese. She specialises in infertility and pregnancy issues. I have nothing but praise for this medicine as it's helped lengthen my LP from 9 days to 13. Also helped in bringing my ovulation forward as it used to be quite late. No bfp yet but i still have high hopes. I would highly recommend it along with reading 'the infertility cure' by randine Lewis . It's a good intro into TCM/acupuncture . Xx

Thanks ladies! I looked around town and mostly all we have are chiropractic clinics who do acupuncture. But, I found one place that has a guy who does TCM, acupuncture, cupping and herbs. I think after we give it a go a couple more months, then I'm going to talk DBF into the TCM. He is NOT excited about dealing with a fertility doc, so this JUST might be our compromise for a bit.

I've been going to see a TCM for herbs and acupuncture. The one I see isn't Chinese but has been practicing for 30 years and did internship in China. I highly recommend two books:
The Infertility Cure - by Randine Lewis - TCM perspective on solving fertility issues

Making Babies: A proven 3-month Program for Maximum Fertiity - Sami S. David and Jill Blakeway - combines Western advice with TCM advice - lots of great ideas in here

I have been going to a TCM school for acupuncture since February. I've had one Chinese and one non-Chinese, but the instructors were Chinese. I might be taking a break this cycle as I decide whether I want to see an acupuncturist that has a track record with fertility issues. I do recommend TCM in general, because I really enjoy my time at treatment. I think acupuncture is in that "can't hurt and might help" category, so I think it's worth your time and money to investigate.
