Help!
Freddie has suddenly started taking a few sucks then screaming at us  this is repeated for a while and he doesnt settle at his bottles anymore. At first I thought it was because hes being latched onto the breast sometimes and he prefers that but I think its the flow on the teats is too slow for him now.
Hes almost 6 weeks old and I had assumed he would still need slow/medium flow but could it really be that he needs medium or medium/fast flow? Does it sound typical? Did your LO do this and was it fixed by switching to faster flow teats?
He only has Breastflow bottles, hes had no trouble with colic, wind, reflux or anything, hes only had EBM since being 48 hours old.
Please tell me I can go out and spend a fiver on some new teats and our problems will be solved????

I think its worth a go  Lola has been on medium flow teats for 6 month + since she was about 6 weeks ish (her milk is thick though - its for colic and reflux)!

What bottles are you using? Tommee Tippee have a variflow teat which flows as fast or slow as your LO is sucking. I don't use TT bottles though so never used them.

Could it possibly be the 6 week grumpy period?

Myles had to change to the medium flow teat at three weeks because he found size 1 really hard and wouldn't feed well. It's much better now even though he still can be a lazy toad!!!

If worth a go to try a different teat just for peace of mind but generaly if he feeds from the breast fine then it might not be the teat thats a problem as they have to suck alot harder from the breast then from the bottle so if anything its normaly the breast they get ratty with first if flow is a problem.
Like I said try it just to see but bare in mind that if that isnt the problem and the next size is too big then he will be swallowing alot more air then he's used to and might get a poorly tummy.

My LO is going through a phase like this of getting realy fussy while trying to feed but im just putting it down to a growth spurt at the momemnt because he doesnt do it every time.

Forgot to say see if you can check the inside of his lips and around the gum area he may have a little blister from sucking on the teat too hard and that may be rubbing and putting him off.

I started using TT 2 medium flow from this week as my LO sucked so hard on number 1 she ended up really tired without finishing her feed. My healthvisitor said that if I needed to change then to do that, just keep an eye on her sucking as she now gets more feed for each suck and it took her a bit to get used to swallowing more fluid at a time. Its worth a try! :)
